Key skills:
- ICONICS Geneses 32/64
- OPC
- Modbus
From 2007 until late 2010 I was sub-contracted to a large Oil & Gas services company based in Aberdeen, Scotland. Here I worked on a number of projects to develop subsea control systems for a number of well known oil companies.
These control systems utilised ICONICS Genesis 32 to provide rich HMI’s for the operators. These were hooked up to an in-house Process Control Engine via industry standard OPC protocol. Further connections to third party systems were also implemented using both OPC and Modbus.
During this time, I was involved for the full project cycle, from initial gathering of requirements, through development, testing and finally offshore deployment.
As a result of this I have gained considerable knowledge of Subsea Control Systems, but also Process Control in general, particularly SCADA design and development.
I have also worked on a number of other SCADA projects in various industries, including Pharmaceuticals and Food Processing.
